I first started designing greeting cards in 1994 for family and friends in response to the lack of availability of and variety in multicultural greeting cards. I always tried to find cards that reflected me: my brown skin, my silly personality, my love of kids and my love of the cute and whimsical. So, I had to design my own cards! They were a hit with family and friends. I then decided to sell them to others. My line was a hit, finding its way onto the shelves of many retailers, large and small.

 

Several years later I launched Stacey M Design. I developed a unique line of characters that celebrate the unique qualities of all kids. With my illustrations I also focus on the creativity that children demonstrate through their own personal styles. Some kids love sports, others love music. Some are into fashion, others are into fantasy.

 

These unique illustrations are appropriate for many different products from paper products to textiles.
